When it comes to kids, I think it’s safe to say they don’t do anything the same as adults. They act, think, eat, and respond to things differently than we do. Which is great, that’s why they’re kids! But when it comes to their health, that’s one thing we should treat like ours, as a top priority!
The iTOVi scanner is just that. Aiding in helping each of us to feel our absolute best, giving us the support it can on our journey to a happier, healthier lifestyle. In case you’re not familiar with how the iTOVi scanner works, let’s do a quick recap on what this intuitive little gem is all about!
The iTOVi scanner combines galvanic skin response (GSR), pressure sensor, temperature, and Bluetooth technologies to measure small changes in the electrical conductivity of the skin. Many different factors can cause these electrical conductivity reactions; internal and environmental stressors are some of the leading causes.
Once the scan is complete, the results show up in your iTOVi App with a list of essential oils that your body shows a response to. The scan is hand-tailored to your specific needs, whatever they may be. As if that isn’t cool enough, the iTOVi App will prioritize the list of oil suggestions based on your body’s scan results. How cool is that?!
So now that you have your results, and know where to find them, what do you do with them?
There are a lot of different ways you can apply the suggested oils. Essential oils are applied topically, taken internally, and diffused aromatically. They come in all shapes and forms. You can use them as single oils or blends, supplements, in drinks, or even as ointments. Whichever type it comes in, each product will have instructions and suggestions on the best ways to apply it. Always read the labels to make sure you are getting the safest and most effective use out of your oils.
Since we’ve already established that children are not the same as adults, their tolerance and sensitivity to oils will be different than adults as well. That’s something to keep in mind when introducing something new to their system. Children’s bodies and skin are far more sensitive than adults. Always be sure you clear the use of essential oils on your child with your child’s pediatrician first.
Once they do get the all-clear from the doctor, make sure you dilute the oils first! We recommend 1 drop of essential oil to every 50 drops of carrier oil. You can also do 3-6 drops of essential oil to 1 ounce of carrier oil. Some of the carrier oils we like best are almond, coconut, and olive oil. And as always, never apply essential oils to sensitive areas like the nose, eyes, genitals, or ears.
When adding essential oils to your child’s diet, be creative. You can add oils to drinks, smoothies, baked in their food, or even apply a few drops directly on the tongue (of course with doctor’s approval first)!
